COMPASSIONATE BILINGUAL CARE SERVING THE HOUSTON/BELLAIRE AREA: THERAPY, EMDR FOR TRAUMA & IMMIGRATION EVALUATIONS
Let's carry this together. Just as grace restores what feels shattered and helps it bloom anew, you can find healing, hope, and renewed purpose here. Whether faith is central to your life or not, you are welcome exactly as you are. Wherever you are today, you don't have to do this alone.
CHECKING IN
Do you feel like you’re carrying too much?
Maybe you're worn down by worry, weighed down by sadness, or holding pain you've never quite put into words. Maybe you lie awake replaying the day, or feel exhausted no matter how much you rest. Maybe relationships feel harder than they should, or you're carrying patterns handed down through your family, cycles you're determined not to pass on.
Maybe you're simply tired of feeling stuck, going through the motions, and longing for a sense of peace that's felt out of reach.
Wherever you are, you're welcome here. This is a space where your story is honored, your feelings are safe, and your faith is welcomed too. Together, we'll gently work to break old patterns, find relief, and move at a pace that feels right for you, with no pressure and no judgment.

The Heart Behind the Name
Blooming Grace Christian Counseling was born from the image of God as the Potter, the One who lovingly reshapes and restores with tender hands. In Scripture, the Potter takes clay that has lost its form and, with patience and care, makes it into something new. Nothing is discarded; even the most worn and weary pieces become a new creation, capable of holding life again.
That image is the heart of this practice. So many of us arrive in seasons that feel heavy or undone, tired, uncertain, carrying more than we ever expected to. But those seasons are never the end of the story. With time, skilled care, and the grace of the One who heals, what once felt beyond repair can be gently restored and made more beautiful than before.
I find so much hope in the way God designed our minds to heal and change. Science calls it neuroplasticity (the brain's incredible ability to form new pathways) and Scripture described this long ago, calling us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2). The way we think really can reshape us, which means no one is ever stuck or beyond change. That truth gives me hope, and a gentle reminder that progress doesn't have to be fast to be real, because rewiring our brains takes time!
From that place of restoration, we bloom. I hope to walk alongside you and offer the soil where that growth can take root, a safe, compassionate space to be renewed, reshaped, and made whole.
HOW I CAN HELP
Personalized support for your unique journey
-
I work with teens and adults (ages 13 and up) for individual counseling, as well as couples hoping to reconnect. Whether you're carrying anxiety, sadness, or grief, navigating a shaky sense of who you are, feeling strain with the people closest to you, or holding wounds tied to faith or church that have been hard to put into words, you don't have to sort through it alone.
-
There's no one-size-fits-all when it comes to therapy, so my approach is always shaped around you. I care for the whole person, not just the mind, but your emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being too, because healing rarely happens in just one part of us. When we tend to the whole self, real and lasting change becomes possible.
I draw on approaches like EMDR to work through painful experiences, along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Much of our work may also gently tend to the deeper, earlier roots of what you're carrying, caring for the parts of you that have held pain the longest.
My own background as a bilingual, second-generation Latina has given me a deep appreciation for the ways culture, family, and faith shape who we are, and that sensitivity helps me meet people from all walks of life with understanding and respect. Wherever you come from, you'll find a space here where you feel truly seen.
And for those who desire it, I weave faith and Scripture into our time together, honoring both your spirit and your heart. We'll build an approach that fits you, and move forward in a way that feels right for you.
-
Painful experiences can leave a lasting mark, not just on our thoughts, but on our hearts and even our bodies. Sometimes the past doesn't stay in the past; it shows up in anxiety, sleepless nights, painful memories, or reactions that feel bigger than the moment we're in.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a proven, research-backed approach that works with the brain's natural ability to heal. Rather than reliving painful memories over and over, EMDR helps your mind reprocess them, so they can lose their sharp edges and hold less power over your present. Many people find relief through EMDR that talking alone never quite reached. Over time, the past can begin to loosen its grip, making room for freedom and renewed hope.

THE PROCESS
What working together looks like
1
START WITH A CONVERSATION
It begins with a free 15-minute call. No pressure and no commitment, just a chance to share what's on your heart, ask any questions, and see if we're the right fit for each other.
2
TAILORED THERAPY PLAN
In our first sessions, we'll talk through what brought you here and what you're hoping for. Together we'll define your goals and where you'd like to be, then shape a path that moves you in that direction.
3
ONGOING SUPPORT
From there, we'll walk side by side. With steady support, gentle encouragement, helpful tools, and a deeper understanding of what you're experiencing, you'll find the room to heal, grow, and bloom, step by step, into a renewed sense of hope and peace.
ABOUT ME
Hello, I’m Amy
I'm Amy Flores, founder of Blooming Grace Christian Counseling and a bilingual Christian therapist. Born here to Salvadoran parents, I'm a second-generation Latina who grew up between two cultures, and faith has been the thread running through my whole life.
That background shapes how I show up in the therapy room. I understand the weight of breaking generational cycles, the pull of cultural expectations, and how hard it can be to seek help in communities where mental health is often misunderstood. I bring that same cultural sensitivity to clients of every background, offering care in both English and Spanish so you can express yourself in the language that feels most like home.
My approach is gentle, faith-centered, and practical. I'm especially passionate about walking alongside those carrying trauma, helping them heal, reclaim their story, and find freedom.
My commitment to the Hispanic and faith community extends beyond the therapy room. I have had the privilege of being a featured guest on Radio Amistad alongside Dolly Martín, as well as on Diálogo Pastoral with Pastor Ervin de León; having conversations centered on mental health, faith, and the importance of seeking help within our communities.
Outside the office, my heart is at home with my family. My husband and I have been happily married for eight years, and we're raising and homeschooling our two wonderful children. We also have two beloved cats who we love spending time with. When I'm not with clients, you'll find me traveling with my family, spending time with my parents and siblings, enjoying game nights with my cousins, soaking up a sunny day at the park, or out for a run.
